Bear Exam

Members of the press photograph the examination of a 10-month-old male black bear which is examined by state Fish and Game officials at their Gold River facility before its release in Mendocino County Thursday, January 11, 2007. The bear has been in captivity in Lake Tahoe for several months to help gain strength for its release back into the wild today. The mother of the young bear was a nuisance and had to be killed last summer in Mendocino County.
